SZ Trade+ | SZ-HK cooperation focus of symposium 深港商协会交流座谈会在深圳举办
ASYMPOSIUM over the integrated development between Shenzhen and Hong Kong was held recently, inviting over 30 representatives from the government, business associations and research institutions in Shenzhen and Hong Kong to share ideas.
The symposium was jointly organized by the China Council for Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

At the symposium, Zhang Yuge, head of the Hong Kong, Macao and Regional Development Research Institute of China Development Institute, said that Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation is entering a new stage, and is accelerating after border development plans like Shenzhen-Hong Kong Checkpoint Economic Belt and Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis were unveiled.
To improve cooperation between the two cities, Shenzhen must enhance close links in transportation, planning, technology, industries, tourism and operation mechanism, according to Zhang.
Shao Huan, deputy director of International Cooperation Department of Qianhai Authority, made an introduction to Qianhai’s advantageous industries such as financial, information and service industries.
At the 2022 Qianhai Global Investment Promotion Conference last week, 30 enterprises, including 10 Fortune 500 companies, unveiled plans to invest US$16.5 billion in 30 projects in Qianhai. At the conference, the Qianhai Global Service Providers (QGSP) program was also launched. The program aims to introduce and cultivate China’s top 20 and the global top 50 service providers in eight fields including modern financial services, trade and logistics, information services, and cultural and creative services.
Jim Zeng, director of HKTDC (Shenzhen), said more and more Hong Kong enterprises are seeking business opportunities in Shenzhen and the symposium served as a platform for business associations from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to strengthen cooperation at different levels and promote synergy development of industries and economies between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Tang Quji, vice director of the Hong Kong (SME) Economic and Trade Promotional Association, thought the new opportunities in the new era can provide a broader platform for Hong Kong small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop and the members of the association will gain more understanding over policies on the mainland and promote cross-border industrial cooperation through innovation.
